Vincent crowned Welsh Open champion

GREAT BRITAIN under-21 number one Peter Vincent produced some explosive judo to be crowned the Welsh Open champion in Cardiff earlier this month.

He won his first fight against Shaun Fields in ten seconds, before Vincent then defeated England’s Connor Mair in 27 seconds with an arm lock and Scotland’s Calin Calder in 90 seconds.

Vincent said: “It was good to go out with a bang as this was my last under-21 competition in the UK and I can now concentrate fully on seniors from next year.

“I finished under-21s as GB number one and a definite highlight was winning a under-21 European Cup medal and achieving a world ranking.”

He now moves on to a tour of France and Holland, before he takes on Britain’s best seniors at the National Championships in December.
