Thunder are at Westminster Warriors on Saturday (5.15pm) and then travel to Essex Leopards on Sunday (4pm). Both are play-off rivals of Thunder and coach Daniel Hildreth said: “It’s going to be a tough weekend as we’re up against two teams also fighting for the play-offs.

“But we have a few days to prepare for those games and go into them on the back of a fantastic weekend.”

Thunder will head into the weekend in high spirits after two wins last weekend increased their winning run to six games.

They overcame recently-crowned champions Reading Rockets 65-50 on Saturday, before winning a thriller 103-101 after double over-time against Leicester Warriors on Sunday.

The wins moved Thunder up to 10th in the table, two points behind Bradford Dragons, who occupy the last play-off spot in eighth but also have a game in hand.

After this weekend, Thunder finish the season at home to Team Northumbria on March 30 and then travel to Brixton Topcats on April 7.
