Thomas stars in pivotal race weekend

In the latest instalment of the Junior Cup, racers travelled to Knockhill, in Scotland, earlier this month.

The weekend would be a pivotal one for the Littlehampton rider as four races were held and a total of 100 season points were up for grabs.

The opening day did not start well as proceedings were delayed owing to heavy rain.

Once the races did get underway, Strudwick had a busy day ahead with two races to compete in.

Starting from pole in race one, Strudwick got embroiled in a good scrap but was finally beaten across the line by just three-tenths of a second.

That gave him a second place finish, before he started the second race from fifth on the grid.

Another solid ride saw him win the race and his closest championship rival only managed to finish seventh.

That meant he had opened up a 22-point lead in the overall standings after the first day’s racing.

The second day proved to be just as successful for the Littlehampton racer.

His third race of the championships mirrored his first.

Strudwick secured his third podium place in as many races with a second-placed finish.

The final race of the weekend resulted in Strudwick’s second win.

The 13-year-old defied the damp conditions to come out on top.

In what proved to be an incredible race weekend for the young rider, he secured a pole position, two race wins and two second spot finishes.

That return meant he picked up 90 points towards his KTM British Championship tally.

He has now opened up a 27-point lead at the top-of-the-standings as the racers head to Thruxton for the next round.
