STEYNING DROP MORE POINTS

STEYNING Cricket Club viewed their home draw with East Grinstead as more dropped points on Saturday.

Having conceded 250-9 from 55.1 overs, Steyning were confident that it was a chaseable target on a excellent batting track. However, any hope they had of winning were halted immediately. Both openers, Nick Colley and Wade Spilcker were dismissed without scoring.

That left Steyning 4-2 and after 10 overs, they still had not reached double figures with runs as Jibran Khan and Jeremy Green started to rebuild the innings.

Bowler Neil Mansbridge said: "There were six or seven maidens in the first 10 overs and we needed to get off to a flyer if we were to have a chance of winning. We had to score quickly and keep wickets in tact but unfortunately it didn't happen like that."
