American forward Spencer, who admitted he is loving his time at Worthing, is hoping Thunder can go through the rest of the season unbeaten as they look to claim a EBL Division 1 play-off spot.

He said: “We’ll try to go undefeated now. We know how to win and we’ve just got to try to win every game.

“I’m just going to try to do whatever I can to help my team. If they need me to score, I’ll score, if they need me to rebound, I’ll rebound, if they need me to block shots, that’s what I’ll do. I’ll try to do everything to help us get the win.

“I’m loving it here. I’m loving my team mates, they’ve all embraced me and I’m just trying to play my heart out for everybody.”

On Saturday’s win over leaders Hemel Storm, Spencer said: “It’s a great win. It was big for us to start the year off with a win. Everybody over the break was coming in dedicated to getting better and we just came out here and put the format that coach laid out and we got the win.

“It’s big for confidence. We kind of teased what we could do before the Christmas break came and it all came together tonight, so it’s big for our confidence. Everybody’s hyped and ready to go for the next game.”

Thunder had lost 83-77 away to Hemel in their final game before the Christmas break and Spencer added: “We came too close to beating them up there as well. It just slipped through our hands and we weren’t going to let that happen again.”
