SOPHIE'S OLYMPIC DREAM

SOUTHWICK'S Sophie John-stone is 20 years old and currently training for the next Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 with the sole intention of winning a medal in judo. This is the first of a number of articles she will be writing for The Herald.

I started judo when I was seven years old, after my dad encouraged me to try a martial art in the hope that it might increase my self-confidence. I joined Worthing & Lancing judo club run by Don Hitchings, a coach whose love for the sport was contagious.
