Miles joined Worthing in 2010 and was captain from the summer of 2011 until earlier this year. He has suffered from injuries in the last couple of years, with a broken arm ruling him out of the end of the promotion-winning season in 2013.

He then suffered a pectoral injury in March and a toe injury has restricted his appearances this season.

However, he made his comeback in the win against Henley Hawks and said afterwards: “It’s unbelievable, absolutely amazing.

“I was only expecting to play 20 minutes as Elliott Luke had such an excellent game the previous week. I just thought I’d blow away the cobwebs and get out there again.

“It’s a really nice way to bring up 100 appearances, although it’s taken a long time to get there.

“I’d have liked to have got there sometime last season but things seemed to conspire against me, so it was awesome to run out there, especially at home in front of a big crowd and to get a win like that against an unbeaten team.”

On his highlights with the club, Miles said: “Promotion is right up there and this game is right up there as well.

“It’s hard to describe as I’ve been called a journeyman before but I’ve been here for five years, which is quite a while and I’ve absolutely loved my time here.”

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, Miles said: “We’ll never say never in terms of this season. We just need a little bit of consistency, play smart rugby, get the rub of the green and that little bit of luck. It’s a long old season and a lot can still happen, so we’ll just take every game as it comes.”
