Raiders, who defeated Shelford 41-13 in their previous match, followed it up with another bonus-point win, 28-14 at Cambridge.

Dawson said: “It was really pleasing for us to come away with another bonus-point win on Saturday.

“We have struggled this season to follow up a good performance with another one in the next game.

“But, this time around, we managed to do that, which is great.

“We are now beginning to convert more of our chances and open up a bigger margin of victories over our opponents.

“At the start of the year, we really struggled and, when we did win, it was by small margins.

“But we have improved in the last couple of weeks and that is a good sign.”

Raiders will go in search of a third successive win in National 2 South for the first time this season on Saturday, when they entertain bottom-of-the-table Dings Crusaders.

Dawson said: “If we play how we have done in the past couple of matches, we should have a great opportunity to win the game.

“I and Nick Buoy (coach) have not had to say much to the players over the past week as they seem to be taking more leadership themselves.

“We have been very aggressive in those two victories and showed some real attacking quality and that has been reflected in the scorelines.

“It’s been a really promising couple of matches and, hopefully, we can put in another good performance and claim a fourth straight win in front of the Roundstone Lane crowd.”

Saturday’s game with Dings starts at 2pm.
