Raiders are ninth in the table, seven points clear of third-from-bottom side Redingensians Rams.

After Saturday’s 25-10 loss at struggling Southend Saxons, Barlow knows the importance of getting a victory over 12th-placed Bury, who are four points behind Raiders.

He said: “I think we all know that Saturday’s game is must-win. Kieron (Dawson) spoke to us after the loss at Southend and spoke of the importance of the Bury clash.

“Southend was a game I felt we should have won but the Bury game is one we must win.

“If you beat the teams below you in the table, then the gap between you and them becomes greater, so if we can come away with the win, that moves us further away from the bottom.

“We’ve won and drawn our last two home games and we are looking to make Roundstone Lane a fortress in 2016. I’m hopeful we can pick up a positive result on Saturday.”
