Regatta goes ahead but finishes early
SHOREHAM Rowing Club held their home regatta for the first time in two years on Saturday – but were forced to call it off after only seven races.
Saturday was the fourth attempt this year that the club had tried to hold their regatta owing to adverse weather conditions.
A fresh breeze whipped up near perfect waters to one of the roughest seas all season. The regatta was abandoned after the men’s novice fours race when the umpires adjudged conditions to no longer be safe, after the Shoreham crew had just capsized.
