An effort by the whole club effort involves teams across all their age groups, from minis through to the Worthing Raiders, running, jogging or walking 2021km to raise money for a new clubhouse roof.

Holly, Constantine, the under-15s’ manager, said: “Worthing Rugby Club is a wonderful place to be with our ‘one club’ ethos. We miss being together, and can’t wait to get back to what we love and hope to welcome members old and new as soon as possible.

“We want our clubhouse to be the best it can be for our members and the wider community to enjoy when we can all come together again.

“Currently we are unable to train or play together under the latest government guidelines so we were keen to find a way to keep our players fit, motivated, active and positive during lockdown and thought ‘raise the roof’ was a great way to do this while allowing each member to participate according to the current guidelines.

“Each player will run, jog or walk either alone or with family members to complete their share of kilometres, meaning we are still working as a team - working together while keeping apart!

“We all have the same aim: to raise money for our club – but as sportsmen and women we all have our competitive streak and we love a bit of healthy competition.”

Holly added: “I am one of the managers for the under-15s team and our goal is to complete and hopefully smash our share of 142km by February 14 to raise as much as we can. The age group who can raise the most money will win new playing shirts for their team.

"We are keen, enthusiastic and would love your support to win. We’ve been out practising with the help of siblings, parents and coaches all chipping in to play their part, this really is a team effort.”
