GOLDEN YEARS theatrical performance remembered

On October 27, this photo appeared in Golden Years, asking “was this you in swimwear?”

Brenda Wright, of St Elmo Road, Worthing, phoned in to say she recognised the women as being from the Worthing Musical Comedy Society.

She said the photo was taken for the society’s performance of No No Nanette, which took place in 1958.

Brenda, 75, said she appeared in that production but was not in the photo, which mostly featured dancers from the show.

She said: “It’s brought back all sorts of memories. I’ve got out my scrap book of all those shows and the photos.

“They really were great times.”

Brenda joined the society as a 15-year-old, staying for 15 years before she moved to other local theatrical groups.

She added No No Nanette was a production she particularly enjoyed.
