GOLDEN YEARS: Annie Get Your Gun

Taken in 1958, this picture appeared in Golden Years in February, asking readers who the children were.

Janet Beckett was recognised as the girl pictured second from top by a friend of hers who lives in Worthing.

Janet, née Pollock, now lives in Chichester but said the photo was taken of the children appearing in the Worthing Musical Comedy Society’s performance of Annie Get Your Gun.

Janet, 64, said the girl pictured one from the bottom was Jean Rogers, who went on to have a career as an actress, appearing in Emmerdale as the character Dolly Skilbeck.

Janet said: “When my friend sent the cutting through to me it was quite a blast from the past.

“They were very happy times and I was thrilled to be part of this production.”
