Bramber floods led to first tub race

The village of Bramber has been flooded countless times in the past, as witnessed in written records and photographs held by Beeding and Bramber Local History Society.

The floods of 1904 led to the first tub race – not in the river but along the causeway from Beeding Bridge to Bramber village – and not using bath tubs, but what appear to be wooden barrels or half-barrels.
