THE inaugural Worthing Half Marathon and children’s Mini Mile take place on Sunday.
The event begins at 9am on Marine Parade before navigating around the town and returning along the seafront.
Race director Richard Xerri said: “We are excited to organise the inaugural Worthing Half Marathon. Worthing lends itself to a flat, fast course, which makes the event fantastic for beginners.
“Being Valentine’s Day, we want people to enter and run their Valentine off their feet and I am excited to be assisting Guild Care in their fundraising efforts and supporting the local community with this event.
“We are hoping to have in excess of 1,500 runners taking part and everyone is looking forward to it.”
There will also be around 100 local children aged between five and 17 taking part in a mini race.
The aim of the race is to help build an Olympic legacy in the area and encourage more children to take up running and join local clubs.
Entries on the day will cost £38. For more information, about the race visit www.worthinghalf.co.uk
