THERE is just over a week left to nominate in this year’s Littlehampton Sports Awards.

The initiative, managed by Littlehampton Sports Forum and the town council, is aimed at recognising the achievements and contributions made by local sporting heroes and community champions.

Anyone from junior to senior, team and individual, as well as off-pitch heroes, can be put forward for an award.

There are ten categories, which are sports person of the year, young sportsperson, coach, sports team, youth sports team, adminstrator, contribution to youth sport, contribution to disabled sport, unsung hero and the lifetime contribution to sport mayor’s award.

The closing date to vote is August 29, before nominations will be considered by a judging panel. The winners will be announced at an invitation-only awards ceremony at the Coco Lounge on October 6.

The ceremony will be hosted by professional snooker player John Virgo.

Nominations can be made online via www.littlehampton-tc.gov.uk or nomination forms can be picked up from the town council offices.
