Leeming was Raiders’ man of the match in their narrow 27-22 defeat against Blackheath on Saturday with a solid performance at number ten.

The local lad is satisfied with their points haul from their opening two matches in the third tier and expecting plenty more with Raiders showing they are in great shape physically against Wharfedale and Blackheath.

He said: “We are definitely gutted as the boys all worked really hard. You can see how hard everyone has worked in pre-season and three points from two games, we are pretty happy with that and we have got to move onto next week now.

Fitness is not a problem we believe we are probably one of the fittest teams in the league I think from inside the camp, and, if we play with a high tempo, I don’t think people will live with us.

“So we have got to keep working with that quite hard.”
