IT'S THE OWEN SHOW

BROADWATER Cricket Club's Joe Owen has almost single handedly condemned Southwick to Division 2 cricket next year after he took six wickets then scored 29 not out on Saturday.

Wickers had stormed to 26-0 after three overs but then crashed to 127 all out. Russell Martin and Kev Funnell were the only men to reach or pass 20 on a difficult batting track. Owen's medium-fast right-arm bowling took 6-47 from 18 overs while Joe Middleton tied up the other end with 2-41 from 14 overs.

Then, when batting, Owen was the only player to make it look easy as he smashed two huge sixes '” both of which cannoned off near-by house roofs.
