GRENNAN DISGUSTED BY LEAGUE LEADERS

SOUTHWICK Cricket Club captain Paul Grennan expressed his anger at leaders Billingshurst on Saturday after their match was abandoned through torrential rain.

Grennan said: "I was unhappy with their umpire. He gave Russell Martin out lbw and it was never going to hit the stumps. Russell walked off laughing because he felt the decision was so bad. We don't know what he gave Peter Fieldwick out for. We assumed it was for lbw even though he hit the ball.

"They take the game so seriously. They should probably be in the Sussex League with all their warm-ups and everything. As soon as I arrived at the ground, their captain wanted to toss up. I hardly even had time to look at the wicket."
