The SCFL division one side have been awarded Charter Standard Youth Club status.

A note from the Sussex FA to the club said: “Having obtained the feedback from all Sussex County FA departments mentioned on the application form, as well as the relevant leagues your teams compete in, the feedback has all been positive, therefore I am delighted to confirm Mile Oak have been given the Charter Standard Youth Club Award.

“Becoming a Charter Standard Club gives the club many rewards including discounts on coaching; first aid and safeguarding courses that are staged by Sussex County FA.

“The FA recognise this achievement and arrange multiple rewards to be sent to the club, both electronically and physical fulfilments through the post.”

A Mile Oak spokesman said: “The club would like to thank committee member and previous player Warren Venour for all his hard work in seeing this through.”

Club life president Colin Brown said: “Well done to everyone on achieving Charter Standard. It’s been a dream for many years and confirms the ongoing strength of the club. It’s a ‘feather in the cap’ after the obvious disappointment of this abandoned season.”
