The game was one of the few matches that survived in Sussex on Saturday and the pitch held up exceptionally well after the torrential conditions in the days running up to the fixture.

Lancing were, however, undone by two late Murfin goals when it looked for large parts of the game that they would go away with at least a point.

Dominic Shepherd gave Lancers the lead on 22 minutes but Murfin equalised on 73 minutes, before he hit the winner with three minutes to go.
