Steyning Town Football Club boss Gerry Murphy admitted a draw at St Francis Rangers on Tuesday evening was the fair result.
Steyning took a point from the 0-0 draw to move up a place to third in the Southern Combination League Division 2 table and Murphy said: “On reflection, a draw was a fair result against a team that battled and worked hard for each other.
“We tried in vain to get a winner and played some good football on a tricky pitch but a point away from home again keeps us on track for where we want to be.”
The draw increased Town’s unbeaten run to seven league matches. They are just a point behind second-placed Mile Oak and three points off leaders Saltdean.
