Snow causes several postponements

Several matches in this weekend’s local sporting programme have been postponed owing to the snow yesterday (January 18).

Worthing Raiders Rugby Club’s home match with Lydney in National 2 South was called off on Friday afternoon as the visitors could not travel from their Gloucestershire base.

Worthing Thunder’s home game with Brixton Topcats has also been postponed owing to snow disruption.

Worthing Football Club’s Ryman League game with Walton & Hersham at Woodside Road was postponed after a pitch inspection this morning.

A number of Sussex County Football League games have already been postponed.

In Division 1, the following games have already been called off: Arundel v Selsey; Crowborough v Sidley, East Preston v Pagham, Hassocks v Dorking, Horsham YMCA v Lancing, Lingfield v St Francis, Ringmer v AFC Uckfield.

The Division 2 Cup games between Littlehampton and Little Common and Loxwood versus Southwick are both postponed.

The Division 2 league games off are: Mile Oak v Storrington; Rustington v Broadbridge Heath; Steyning Town v Eastbourne United; Westfield v Seaford; Newhaven v Bexhill; Saltdean v Wick

Ferring’s home game with Barnham in Division 3 is also off, as is Clymping’s game at Haywards Heath.
