Shoulders has added ten of last term’s United team to his new side, while also bringing in Lee Early.

Despite this being his first season in senior football, the 27-year-old is hopeful Oak can finish in the top six.

He said: “I know it’s not going to be an easy task taking over from Anthony Whittington but I want to do well.

“Pre-season has gone better than I was expecting and I’m targeting a top-six finish.

“All of the players have integrated really well and I think it’s going to be a good campaign.

“It’s something fresh for myself and the players, which I hope will be good.”

Shoulders’ reign starts out with an extra-preliminary round FA Cup home clash with Combined Counties League Premier Division side Guildford City on Saturday.

Oak are the lowest-ranked team in the competition but Shoulders is hopeful his side can spring a surprise to set them on their way this season.

He added: “We are the lowest-ranked team in the competition but we want to cause an upset.

“It’s at home, we won’t know a lot about each other, so it’s all about who performs.”

In: Jamie McKenzie, Craig Stevens, Enzo Benn, Joe Benn, John Buggy, Ben Symes, Adam Khan, Ben May, Callum Clarke, Will Fuller (all Worthing United Reserves), Lee Early (Steyning Town). Out: Fergus Davies (Peacehaven), Adam Dine (Saltdean United).
