Both sides entered by Shoreham played their first matches last weekend.

Shoreham’s under-14s, taking on a vastly experienced Oxford City side, were beaten 5-0. The players did well holding out to 2-0 with only eight minutes to go but eventually the experience of Oxford came through. All the players should be proud of themselves.

Shoreham’s under-16 side managed to come away with a point from their clash with Basingstoke.

They put up an amazing fight in their first match in the JPL, coming away with a 3-3 draw against a well organised and experienced Basingstoke side. Great goals came from Lloyd Hobden, who struck twice, and George Fyffe getting the other as the under-16s claimed a battling draw.
