SHOREHAM Football Club claimed their first win of the season on Tuesday evening as they won their FA Cup extra-preliminary round replay at Crawley Down Gatwick.

The teams drew 1-1 on Saturday but second-half goals in the replay from Wes Millis, Tom Roberts and Rob Allan helped Mussels reach the preliminary round.

Shoreham player-manager Kane Louis was delighted with the win and said: “It was a really great victory for us.

“I was really disappointed after Saturday as we should have finished the job and we were hanging on for the draw in the end.

“But we gave it a really good go in the replay and, fortunately, we got a positive result.”

The first half was an evenly matched affair with neither side creating any clear-cut opportunities.

Shoreham started the second half well and took the lead through Millis on 48 minutes.

Roberts then doubled his side’s lead, before Allan headed home on 62 minutes to make it 3-0.

Crawley Down did pull a goal back through Ciaran Steers but the visitors held on for their first win of the season.

Mussels picked up £1,500 prize money for the win.
