MILE OAK Football Club boss Anthony Whittington believes a settled team has been the major factor behind his side’s excellent recent Southern Combination League Division 1 form.
Oak made it five successive wins with a 1-0 victory at Sidlesham on Saturday.
In those five wins, Oak have used just 16 different players and Whittington feels a consistent team has helped his side collect those 15 points.
He said: “It’s been a great run recently and I think having a settled team has been key to that.
“Our centre-half partnership in those five games has been Joe Whiting and Damon Pollard. Neither were first choice at the start of the season but they have started the last five games.
“In that time, we have conceded just two goals and have defended really well.
“All over the pitch, partnerships have been beginning to form and having a settled side helps.
“It’s just a case of making sure confidence continues to grow, the team remains the same and each player carries on doing what they are for the team because, at the minute, it’s going well.”
