Rosenior became Albion’s first signing of the summer last week when he joined from Hull City on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old had been with his former club for five seasons before his release at the end of the last campaign.

He was part of the Tigers team that gained promotion to English Football’s top division two seasons ago and he admitted he wants an immediate return.

Rosenior is hopeful that this time next year he will be looking ahead to a campaign in the Premier League with Albion.

He said: “Everyone wants to play in that league.

“I was speaking to Andrew Crofts about it and we were saying that it changes your life once you get there.

“Once you’ve had that taste for it you don’t want to play anywhere else to be honest.

“I look at the young players here and with the likes of Solly March, Jake Forster-Caskey and Lewis Dunk you see Premier League potential.

“I’m not talking about those guys going to sign for a side in that league I want them to do that here and I’m sure they want to do it at this club aswell.

“It’s the ambition and hopefully we can achieve promotion in this campaign.”

The new Albion man also revealed his dad was a big help in his move to the south coast.

Leroy, Liam’s father, was a former professional and played with Chris Hughton when the pair were at West Ham.

And the younger Rosenior admitted his fathers words about Hughton were another major factor behind his decision.

He added: “You always listen to what your dad has to say.

“It would be crazy for me not to listen to him just because of his experiences in the game.

“Obviously there have been times when I have not listened to him but his advice to me was to come here as quickly as possible.

“He had worked with the manager in his playing days he did not have a bad word to say about him so I took that on board.

“But nobody has a bad way to say about Chris if you speak to anyone involved in the game. He is honest and that is a rare and great thing to have in the game.”
