Picture special from an historic day for Southwick FC

A new era has started for Southwick FC - they have played their first game in the Mid Sussex League at Southwick Rec. They have had to leave the Southern Combination League and their long-standing home at Old Barn Way - but they hope to return to both in time.

There is huge support for the Bring Home The Wickers campaign. More than 200 people turned up to see Sammy Donnelly's side beat Ashurst Wood 2-1 - including local councillors and MP Tim Laughton. It bodes well for what is now a campaign to get Adur District Council to helpthem move back to Old Barn Way. Photographer Stephen Goodger was there to capture the action and you can see some of his shots here. Watch out for coverage in the Worthing Herald on Thursday too.
