MILE OAK fell to their second defeat of the season in the County League Division 2 with a loss to Worthing United last night.
Oak had gone four games without losing in the league, but goals from Jamie Stideford, Mark O’Regan and Sam Blundell meant they fell to defeat.
Mile Oak player felt it was a disappointing performance.
He said: “We started the game well and went ahead inside 20 minutes.
“But after that point I felt they were the better side and really dominated the game.
“That is our second loss of the season now and we can’t afford to lose too many, but it’s early days.
“Both of the games that we have lost, those side’s will be near the top of the table.
“But with the squad we have got I hope we can be in or around the top of the table come the end of the season.
Oak took the lead on 20 minutes when Adam Dine finished.
The Mavericks were not trailing for long, though, as Jamie Stideford headed his side level, just eight minutes later.
O’Regan then fired United ahead three minutes after the break, with a magnificent lobbed finish from 30-yards.
Sam Blundell then got his name on the scoresheet in the 60th minute as United went onto seal the victory and go to the top of the table.
