Morgan Forry’s brace, coupled with a James Parsons effort and Liam Austin-Slade own-goal sent Oak to just their third league loss this season.

Victory for Little Common at Southwick leapfrogged them above Oak, who dropped a place to fourth in the table.

Mile Oak boss Ben Shoulders said: “All the other results went our way, so it was a massive shame that we could not capitalise on that but that’s football, we move onto next week.

“It was very disappointing as I didn’t think we deserved to lose the game but letting in two very silly goals early just set the tone.

“We must have had ten chances we should have scored but just couldn’t.”

Oak were two goals down inside 16 minutes as Forry fired in the opener nine minutes in, then Austin-Slade put through his own net.

Oak had a lifeline 14 minutes later when Jamie McKenzie bagged his tenth league goal of the campaign to make it 2-1.

Having worked hard to get themselves back in it, Oak gifted Selsey a chance to restore their two-goal lead a minute after the break. Eric Wedge-Bull gave away a penalty, which Forry slammed home.

Oak substitute James Wotherspoon set-up an enthralling final 15 minutes when he made it 3-2, before the home side sealed the victory.

Damon Pollard gave away another penalty in injury-time and James Parsons scored from the spot.
