Dodd made the speedy return to football management last week following his departure from Wick just two weeks ago.

And now the former Bognor and Horsham striker is looking forward to the challenge of stepping up a level with The Lashmar outfit.

Wick were fourth in SCFL Division 1 when the season was cancelled and cited them ‘curtailing their ambitions’ as the reason of letting Dodd and his management team go.

But it was the ambitions of EP which attracted Dodd to the job at The Lashmar.

Dodd said: “What really attracted me was the structure of the club and their ambitions for the next three or four seasons really appealed to me.

“They’ve got a good foundation there and something to build up and progress which is exciting to me.”

Dodd is also looking forward to the challenge of stepping up a level and bringing some stability to EP.

He said: “The county prem is a step up there are some good teams with healthy budgets so the quality of players will be better it will be tough but we are looking forward to the challenge.

“They had three managers last season so that isn’t good for any club so we are hoping to bring in some stability together with getting players that want to play for the club and buy into what we’re doing trying to achieve.”

Dodd has spoken to few of last season’s squad but envisages big changes to the team who finished 17th in the curtailed season.

He said: “I will be bringing the majority of my squad over from wick and plus a few new additions to improve the squad. Our current goal is to build a squad capable of being competitive in county prem.

“Our long term goal in to push the club forward in all areas.”

The club tweeted: “We are excited to announce our new management structure for the new season. We welcome back to the club Terry Dodd as manager and Ian Browne as Head Coach.

"We look forward to working with them and wish them every success. We are also pleased to welcome Mike McCaffery and Lee Thompson as joint managers for our U23s and confirm Richard Hack will manage our U18s with Stuart Hack as Head Coach. Together with our new first team management we now have a strong team in place for all our SCFL teams.”

Dodd, recently let go by Wick, along with his assistant Julian Curnow, takes on the EP job after Lee Baldwin resigned.

East Preston said: “We wish to place on record our sincere appreciation of all his hard work in a difficult season and wish him well for the future.”
