Nathaniel Rowland got the only goal of the game 24 minutes from time to help Upper Beeding Football Club to all three points at Montpelier Villa on Saturday.
Rowland met Jack Whittington’s free kick to ensure Beeding made it five Southern Combination League Division 2 matches without defeat.
Having collected just one win from their opening three league fixtures, Beeding boss Josh Baldock has been delighted with his side’s progress and said: “We’ve turned a corner since a tough home defeat against Jarvis Brook earlier this season. We were really poor that day but since then we’ve improved massively.
“Saturday’s victory was a really pleasing one for me, we kept another clean sheet and managed to pick up three points on the road.
“It’s never an easy place to go and, despite their current league position, they are a good side.
“Looking back, would a draw have been fair, maybe, but I’m delighted we manged to get a goal and win the game.”
Beeding had goalkeeper Tom Broadfoot to thank for keeping them level with a fine diving stop to deny the home side after five minutes.
Alex Townley saw a strike crash back off the crossbar on the hour as Upper Beeding pushed for a winner.
With 24 minutes to go, substitute Whittington’s fine free kick was headed home by Rowland as they came away with all three points on the road for a second sucessive time in the league
