The Dragons have now taken ten points from the last 12 available to rocket up the table and were already in command when Arundel lost John Phillips to a straight red card before the interval.

‘It was a superb effort from us and Dan was at his ruthless best to take his tally for the season into double figures,’ said Wick joint manager Lee Baldwin.

Jake Hawker headed the opener before Connor Bull tucked away the rebound after Simmonds had a penalty saved.

The former Pagham striker then netted either side of the break after also hitting a post before Rob Hitchings, added from Chichester City on dual deal, capped an eye-catching debut with a well-taken finish.

Ben Gray produced two quality strikes and Shane Brazil netted with a clever chip for the visitors.

‘It’s always fantastic when your leading scorer helps himself to goals but it is even better when the rest of the team weighs in as well,’ Baldwin added.
