SHOREHAM Football Club player-manager Kane Louis is hoping his side can kick off the new year with a victory.
The Mussels host St Francis Rangers on Saturday and Louis is looking for all three points.
He said: “It would be great if we could get a win in our first game of the new year.
“I have now got the squad of players that I have wished for in my short time here as boss and, hopefully, we can kick on in the second half of the year and try to finish in the top half of the table, which would be good.
“We know that St Francis will be a threat but, if we can play to our full potential, I see no reason why we can’t pick up all three points.”
Shoreham sit 15th in County League Division 1 but Louis is confident his side can push up the table in the new year.
He added: “The first objective for everyone at the club is to make sure that we stay in this division.
“If we manage to get that secured, then the aim will be to try to kick on and finish as high as we possibly can.
“In a few matches so far this year we have dropped points in games that we should not have and we have been too easy to beat.
“But the aim for the next part of the season is to try to push on and make sure we are hard to beat and a side that nobody enjoys facing.”
Saturday’s game at Middle Road kicks-off at 2pm.
