Local football - what games are on and off

A number of local football matches have passed pitch inspecions this morning (January 26).

Rain last night has failed to prevent a number of games from taking place and the following matches have been confirmed as on.

Worthing’s Ryman League Division 1 South match at Whitstable is on after a morning pitch inspection.

In County League Division 1, Arundel host Dorking Wanderers with a 3pm kick-off.

In Division 2, Rustington’s home match with Steyning Town is on after a 10am pitch inspection. The game kicks off at 1.30pm.

Storrington entertain Saltdean with a 3pm start and Littlehampton travel to Westfield for a 1.30pm kick off. Southwick’s home game with Seaford is also on (3pm kick off).

Clymping’s home Sussex Intermediate Cup quarter-final tie with Hassocks Reserves has also got the go-ahead (1.30pm).

Shoreham’s match at Sidley has passed the first pitch inspection but a further inspection will take place at 11.30am.

A few games have been postponed, though, as Redhill v Lancing, Crowborough v East Preston, St Francis v Worthing United, Oakwood v Wick, Midhurst v Mile Oak and TD Shipley v Ferring are all off.

In the West Sussex League, the local derby between Lancing United and Upper Beeding is on, with a 2pm start at Croshaw Rec.

Worthing Raiders Rugby Club will look to keep top spot in National League 2 South as they host Chinnor at Roundstone Lane.

Raiders lost at Chinnor earlier in the season, so will be looking for revenge. The match starts at 2pm.
