Former Rebel Demetriou joins Kidderminster

WORTHING-based footballer Mickey Demetriou has signed a one-year deal with Blue Square Conference Premier side Kidderminster Harriers.

The versatile 21-year-old, who started his career at Worthing and still currently plays cricket for Findon, featured in the top tier of non-league football last season when he played 10 games for eventually-relegated Eastbourne Borough.

Demetriou, who also spent last year training at the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain, under the watchful eye of the former England manager, has also played for England Colleges and had trials at Fulham and Leicester.

He returned home from the academy around Christmas-time and signed for Borough at the end of January and caught the eye of the Kidderminster management in a 1-1 draw between the sides.
