The win means Lancers have now picked up three successive victories on the bounce in all competitions, with wins over Selsey and Bexhill United before their latest triumph.

It was Lancing who started the brighter and nearly went in-front on 19 minutes when Marcus Robertshaw laid the ball off to Will Conway but his shot was deflected wide of the goal.

The hosts did take the lead ten minutes later, though, as Finney got his first of the game after his 25-yard free-kick found the top corner of the net.

Finney doubled his side’s advantage on 35 minutes after he got past Mole Valley defender Jordan Knight and smashed the ball past Gavin Dilley in the visitors goal.

Mole Valley did pull a goal back five minutes before the break when Richard Smith ran 20 yards and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Mike Williamson should have made it three on 49 minutes but he failed to find the target after he was played in by Conway.

Finney completed his hat-trick 16 minutes into the second half from the penalty spot, after Marcus Robertshaw had been tripped by Robert McGarry.

Lancing made it four on 72 minutes when Craig Knowles was the first to pounce after Dilley had parried a Conway shot, as he bagged his first goal for the club.

Knowles hit the post with a minute to go as Maxime Agnolu picked him out from a cross, but that miss did not matter as Lancing completed a comprehensive victory.
