FA Cup round-up (August 25): Rebels and Golds through

WORTHING and Littlehampton football clubs both progressed into the first qualifying round of the FA Cup this afternoon (August 25).

Rebels progressed past County League Rye 5-1, while County League Division 2 side Golds won 3-0 at Ryman League Division 1 South Burgess Hill.

Scott Tipper netted a hat-trick for Rebels, with Mike Huckett on target twice as Worthing led 2-1 at half-time.

James Taylor gave Littlehampton a 10th-minute lead at Hillians, before George Gaskin scored twice in the second half to seal the win.

Lancing went out 1-0 at home to South Park, while East Preston lost 5-3 at Guildford City. Joe Shelley and Dan Simmonds, with two, were on target for EP. Simmonds also missed a penalty with the score at 4-3.
