Last season proved to be a difficult one for the club as they finished second from bottom in County League Division 2.

Dyer revealed that the move to chairman will hopefully help him rediscover his love for the game.

He said: “It was a really difficult season last year for us.

“We finished second from bottom in the table and were relegated.

“It was a bit of a struggle and my love for the game began to go.

“There was little support above me and, now I have taken up the role of chairman here, I hope that will change.

“It’s difficult to find people who have the time with clubs at this level now but I’m hoping I will be able to assist the new manager that comes in.”

The Swans began their search for a new manager last week when Dyer began to conduct one of a number of interviews.

The club have received 12 applications and Dyer was delighted with the interest.

He added: “It’s great that we have had this much interest in the job.

“It just goes to show that people out there want to manage this club and take it forward.

“The aim for us now is to have a better season then we did last time out and try to kick on up the table.

“I will be here to support the new manager and, hopefully, the next few seasons will be a success.”
