Donnelly was appointed as the new EP boss last night, after former manager Dominic Di Paola took charge at Ryman League South Division side Hastings United on Saturday night.

Former Lancing, Shoreham and Worthing manager Donnelly knows it will be a tough act to follow Di Paola’s success and said: “It’s obvious that Dom has done a great job in his time at East Preston.

“He led them to the double last season and it was so nearly a treble, so I know it will not be an easy job.

“However, each different managerial job has its own unique challenge, whether it be the fight of relegation or trying to secure promotion or a league title.

“I come to the club with it currently in a great position, unbeaten in Division 1, in all the of cups and also in the FA Vase.

“Dom assembled a great squad here and, hopefully, I can keep the players on board and continue the success the club has had in recent times.”
