County League round-up (August 25): Mussels hit nine past United

SHOREHAM Football Club thrashed Worthing United 9-0 in the second round of the John O’Hara Cup on Saturday (August 25).

Aaron MacMillan netted a hat-trick for Mussels, Mark Pulling scored twice, Owen Callaghan and Chris Pulling also netted, while there were two own goals.

Also in the second round, Arundel beat local rivals Wick 4-0 with goals from Dale Campbell, Rob Grove, Ryan Warr and Steve Gettings.

Southwick won 3-2 at division-higher Hailsham with a hat-trick from Sam Blundell, while Storrington went down 3-1 at AFC Uckfield. Aaron Meehan was on target for Swans.

In the first round, Mile Oak went down 3-1 at home to Horsham YMCA.

Adam Burton struck a hat-trick for Steyning Town as they beat Saltdean 4-2 in County League Division 2. Murat Aslan also scored for Town.

Also in Division 2, Rustington drew 1-1 at Westfield. Dan Jarvis netted for Blues.

In Division 3, Ferring drew 3-3 at Sidlesham and Clymping drew 0-0 at Uckfield Town.
