Albion are five points above the Premier League relegation zone with three matches remaining but are not yet 100 per cent safe from the drop.

Victories last weekend for relegation rivals Watford, West Ham, Aston Villa and Bournemouth keeps life at the bottom end of the table tense and unpredictable.

Graham Potter's Brighton have endured a tough run of late. They picked up fine wins against Arsenal and Norwich, plus a creditable draw at Leicester. But hefty defeats against Man United, Liverpool and Man City - three of the best teams in the division - still has them looking over their shoulder.

Potter admits his team need more points from their final three matches, starting with Southampton this Thursday. They then welcome Newcastle on Monday before completing their campaign at Burnley.

Despite recent results, Albion do have reason for optimism as they are undefeated in their last five away matches in the PL and have kept a clean sheet in their last three away from home.

Southampton however are in a good moment themselves and secured a deserved draw against Man United on Monday and also recorded a 1-0 win against City earlier this month.
