SHOREHAM Football Club have appointed Matt Brace as the man to lead their new under-21 side.
It will be the first season Mussels have had an under-21 team and they will play in the newly-formed division of the Sussex County League.
It has not yet been confirmed who Shoreham will play in the upcoming campaign but, at present, 12 teams have entered the league.
Shoreham chairman Stuart Slaney admitted the decision to appoint Brace was an easy one.
He said: “Matt has been at this club for a long time and it was an easy decision to offer the position to him.
“He won the treble with the under-18 team a few seasons ago and has so much experience.
“The aim for us is to finish in the top half at least.
“It’s going to be an interesting first season for this division and I’m hoping we go well.”
Slaney revealed that entering an under-21 side into the new league was a no-brainer.
He added: “This gives us a chance to bring a few more players into the club.
“The under-21 side will be just one step away from the first team and, hopefully, we can bring some through the system.
“This team will also allow a few players some game time if they are on the fringes of the first team, so it’s an exciting time for us.”
