Hide AdSteyning manager Gerry Murphy felt the scoreline flattered his team a little bit and said: “This was a good game of football played by both teams. The scoreline was not a fair reflection of how Lingfield played, certainly in the second half, wheh they had more of the ball but did not really hurt us.”
Adams gave Steyning the lead on the half-hour but Bell struck to level things up six minutes later.
Town finished the opening 45 minutes well and Adams’ second on 40 minutes, was followed up by a goal from Faber three minutes later as they led 3-1 at half time.
With time running out, substitute Harding wrapped things up ten minutes from time.
