Three cricket games survive another wet weekend

The entire of the West Sussex Invitation League fixtures were all postponed for the second week running without a ball being bowled in any of the 11 divisions, although there was some limited successes in the Sussex League.

Three games managed to overcome the weather as waterlogged pitches dominated the county in both the first and second XI leagues.

In the Premier Division Eastbourne hosted a 100-over match against Horsham, which saw the visitors take the honours completed a maximum 30points from a 116-run victory.

Brighton & Hove managed to get onto their pitch at 3.30pm and play a 20/20 clash against Bexhill in the same league, where the latter secured a six-wicket victory with an over to spare.

Tireless work from Arundel’s groundsman went rewarded as they won the their local derby against Littlehampton by 43 runs in Division 3 West, taking just 30 points to the away sides’ 1.

All abandoned matches in both the Invitation and Sussex League saw teams record 10 points each. Clubs will be hoping that the conditions dry up this week to finally get their summer of cricket underway.
