Sussex to face t20 finals day first-timers at Cardiff

Sussex will face t20 finals day debutants Yorkshire in their semi-final at Cardiff on August 25.

Michael Yardy’s men and Somerset reached the 2012 contest’s big day on Tuesday and Hampshire and Yorkshire followed them with victories over Notts and Worcestershire respectively on Wednesday.

The draw paired Sussex with Yorkshire and Hampshire with Somerset - the latter a repeat of the 2010 final.

Sussex won the competition in 2009 but have not reached finals day since.

From a geographical point of view, it would seem likely the Sussex-Yorkshire semi will be the afternoon game, after Hants-Somerset.
