After winning the toss in the West Sussex Invitation League Division 4 match, Worthing elected to field first on a pitch that offered plenty for the bowler.

Luke Vinter, upon his return from the Far East, claimed three for 21 and Southampton footballer Reed, who played junior cricket at Worthing and was returning to the game after a few years off, took three for 14 as Trinity were all out for 128.
