Cricket trials for Aldridge Academy
The foundation launched its cricket academy last year under the guidance of former Sussex and England star, James Kirtley.
Sussex Cricket Board’s Adam Newman, a Level 3 England and Wales Cricket Board qualified head coach, leads the intensive cricket coaching programmes, which are integrated with A Level studies at the academy sixth forms.

The trials run from 1-4pm in the indoor nets and students wishing to join the course from September need to have successfully completed the trial, as well as achieve the required GCSE grades this summers.
Newman said: “Our open evening in January attracted lots of interest. We had a packed house on the day with boys and girls and their parents travelling from as far away as Hastings, Chichester and Uckfield to attend. The trials will be friendly and informal, giving everyone a chance to show their potential. We will also have teachers on hand to answer any questions about the courses that parents may have.”
