Horsted Keynes CC were horrified last week when clubs voted to remove teas from the list of obligations on home tams for Sussex Cricket League fixtures.

But after concerns over how the vote was run it got a second airing - and now a majority of clubs have voted to keep teas on the table, disappointing those who said it should not be forced on teams who struggled to find volunteers.

Horsted Keynes are very much in the pro-tea camp and thanked the league for rerunning the vote.

Horsted Keynes Cricket Club Chairmen Oli Wright commented: "We are delighted with the outcome and pleased that this unfortunate affair can be put behind us and we can continue to focus on providing a warm welcome and playing excellent cricket in 2021."

Horsted Keynes Cricket Club Secretary Robert Willard Watts added: Obviously we’re thrilled that the vote has been overturned. We’re looking forward to providing even better teas next year than we have in the past - opposition players can look forward to sausage and cranberry rolls, hazelnut pavlova cake.... and I’m even working on some Italian pastries."
